The Offline File Sync tool (OFS) is an optional feature. If it has been enabled on your account you will see the button shown below in the Settings section of your profile. If you don't currently have the option and would like it added to your account please contact our Customer Services Team.
To install OFS you must first authenticate your Glasscubes user profile by clicking on the button shown above, which can be found in the Settings section of your profile.
The credential confirmation box will appear. Enter the email address and password that you use to login to Glasscubes and click 'Sign In'.
Click 'Allow Access' to complete the authentication.
If the authentication has been successful, you will be automatically logged into your account and the message above will be displayed. Now you’re ready to install the OFS application.
Installing the Offline File Sync application
Firstly click here to download the Offline File Sync (OFS) application. After it has downloaded click on the download and select 'Run'.
If you get any Security Warnings similar to the one above, just continue to select 'Run' until you arrive at the Setup Wizard below.
Click 'Next' and continue to follow the prompts until you arrive at the 'Sign In' box below.
Now enter the email address that you use to login to Glasscubes as the User name and enter your Password, then click 'Sign In'.
Configuring Offline File Sync
Now you’re ready to configure OFS. You can make amendments to these settings after the installation is complete, so initially just follow the basic configuration described below.
Make a note of this path, as this will be where you will access your offline files. Then click 'Next'.
This screen will display your Glasscubes account, in this example the account is called 'Customer Services'. If you want to make all of your workspaces available offline, check the box. WARNING: This may use a substantial amount of storage space on your hard drive and require a large amount of internet bandwidth to synchronise.
TIP: A better configuration that will preserve your hard drive storage and offer optimum performance is to only select the workspaces or folders that are absolutely necessary to synchronise. To do this click on the arrow to open and expand the workspace list.
This now shows a list of your available workspaces. Either select the checkbox of the workspace(s) that you want to make available offline, or click on the arrow beside a workspace to expand the available folders which can then be individually selected. After you have made your selection click 'OK'.
Click 'Finish' to complete the OFS configuration.
Now click 'Finish' to complete the Setup.
TIP: For convenient access to your offline files it’s a good idea to add a shortcut to your desktop; right hand click on the Cloud Sync folder and select 'Send To' and then, 'Desktop'.
Depending on the version of Windows that you are using you may also find a link to your offline files in the Favourites section of Windows Explorer.
Ok, so now you're ready to sync your files
Firstly, find the OFS icon on the Windows bottom navigation bar (if it doesn’t appear there it will be in your 'Hidden Icons' which can be displayed by clicking on the arrow below).
Right hand click on the OFS icon to launch the menu.
Select 'Cloud Sync'.
This opens a window that shows your previously configured sync pair(s).
OFS is scheduled to automatically run every 15 minutes. You also have the option to run it on demand by manually clicking the 'Start sync' button.
