Delegating information requests

A secure and convenient method of requesting information from someone else

Updated over a week ago

Information requests can only be sent to a single recipient. This ensures that the recipient takes ownership and is accountable for responding in a comprehensive and timely manner. However, the recipient may need to request information from other people to complete their request.

To do that securely, the recipient clicks on an item that they want the other person to contribute and then clicks the 'Delegate request' link.

The item that they have requested to delegate will be automatically selected but other items can be selected and added to the list. Note: Only items that have been selected will be visible to the person that receives the delegated request.

Click 'Next' to continue.

If the recipient is a member of the workspace that the request was sent from they can select another workspace member from the drop down list, alternatively they will add the contributor's email address.

Finally, they add a message explaining why the information is required and click 'Delegate'.

The item(s) that have been delegated will be marked with a blue arrow in the original information request.

The item that has been delegated will contain the message that accompanied the request, the person it was sent to, and when it was delegated.

The system will automatically send reminders to the contributor, to encourage a timely response from them.

All delegated items will need to be submitted before the information request can be marked as complete. To withdraw a delegated request click the 'reset to respond' link.
