Information request statuses explained

Understand what each information request status means, what triggers it, and when a request needs your attention.

Each information request shows a status, so you can see at a glance where it stands and whether it needs your attention.

This guide covers personal tax, regular and recurring information requests. MTD Assist requests use different statuses and are not covered here.

You can see a request’s status in the ‘Requests’ section of your workspace, in the detail panel when you open a request, and in the dashboard reporting view.

How a request moves through the statuses

Most requests follow this order:

  1. Draft while the request is being prepared.

  2. Scheduled if you set the request to send at a later date.

  3. Sent when the request is sent.

  4. Delivered once the email reaches the recipient.

  5. Opened when the recipient first views the request.

  6. In progress if you or the assignee respond to the client's information with a question or ask for more information.

  7. Updated when the client provides additional information.

  8. Submitted when the client responds to the information request with their submission.

  9. Verified once you manually verify the request, showing the rest of your firm that all information has been received and the request is complete.

  10. Prepared once a Working Paper has been processed for the request (personal tax requests only).

When the client responds to an In progress request with further information, the status changes to Updated. This can happen more than once until all the information has been provided.

Overdue requests

A request can become Overdue at any stage before submission. This includes requests that have been sent but not yet opened.

If reminders are applied, Glasscubes continues to send overdue reminders based on the schedule chosen when the request was created. Once the automated schedule has finished, you can send a manual reminder from the 'Action' menu.
